Current’s Albeo LED Brings New Life to the Historic Freight Depot
Current’s Albeo LED Brings New Life to the Historic Freight Depot
A forgotten 1880’s freight depot located in Leadville, Colorado, immediately caught the eyes of the co-founders of the nationally renowned Anderson Hallas Architects, Nan and Dave Anderson. To preserve the rich history of this old depot, the architects decided to reopen it as a community and events center, naming it FREIGHT.
They needed a creative way to provide great lighting in a way that would transform this 130-year-old abandoned building into a bright and lively event center. With such a large space full of dark wood and a sloping ceiling, downlights alone would not do the trick. Current’s Albeo LED fixtures provided the best solution as it performs well as both an uplight and a downlight.
Lynn Redding Lighting Design worked on a custom industrial chandelier using Albeos. The creative fixtures maintained an industrial feel while transforming the space into the perfect setting for events such as zumba classes and weddings.
